Honorees selected for Induction to the 2024 Arizona Farming & Ranching Hall of Fame

The Arizona Farm and Ranch Museum & Hall of Fame is excited to announce five Arizona agriculturists will be inducted into the Arizona Farm and Ranch Hall of Fame this year. Five nominations were received.

A Zoom meeting was held on September 21, 2023.

The AZFAR Hall of Fame judges unanimously selected all five nominations as worthy candidates to be inducted into the AZFAR Hall of Fame.

The 2023 Induction Class includes: 

John and Francis Aleman – Sheep ranchers, Buckeye and Williams. A nomination was received for both the husband and wife. The judges felt they should be honored together. 

Murphree Family – Farmer, Gilbert, Pinal County

Kevin Rogers – Posthumous. Farmer, Laveen

Wear Family – Horse and cattle ranchers, Willcox

Families will be awarded during the 17th Annual Farm and Ranch Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on Saturday, Feburary 24, 2024 at the Wigwam Resort and Spa in Litchfield Park, AZ. The dinner will celebrate the significant work of these hardworking farmers and ranchers who have played a pivotal role in Arizona’s agricultural history.

Though the name of this organization has changed, the mission remains the same: to preserve Arizona's agricultural heritage for future generations by making history accessible to generations of Arizonans. The AZFAR Hall of Fame was constructed in 2017 to recognize the farmers and ranchers in Arizona who have played a pivotal role in Arizona’s agricultural history and economy.
